2025-26 Junior Ambassador Scholarship Program


Overview:

The Junior Ambassador Scholarship Contest seeks to reach students who are dedicated to the positive promotion of the Weimar Area Chamber of Commerce and the Gedenke! festival. They will volunteer for 12 months and serve as liaisons between the current Weimar Community, incoming community members, and the young adult population. The Junior Ambassador’s main job is to be a helpful, friendly face for the community while learning and earning invaluable experiences. There will be 2 or 3 selected winners  either male or female applicants are encouraged to apply; each will be awarded a $2,000.00 scholarship after proof of enrollment into an accredited college, university, or technical school; payments will be broken down into two payments of $1000 for two semesters.


Qualifications:

Eligible candidates include full-time students currently enrolled in the 10th through 12th grades, between the ages of 15 and 18 years, at Weimar High School. A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 is required. The candidate must be in good standing within the community and school, promoting a positive image and moral character. The following content must be submitted by Tuesday April 15th, 2025, by 4:30 pm  to become eligible for admission.

-Two letters of recommendation (one source must be obtained from an educator or counselor at your high school, and one source must be obtained from a member of the community that is not a family member)

-Sponsorship of $50.00

Interviews will be held the week following the application deadline at a date convenient for interviewers and applicants.
